Pumpkin Cookies

½ cup Shortening

1¼ cup packed Brown Sugar

2 Eggs

2 tsp. Vanilla

1½ cup Pumpkin

2½ cup Flour

4 tsp. Baking Powder

½ tsp. Salt

½ tsp. Cinnamon

½ tsp. Nutmeg

1 cup Raisins

1 cup chopped Walnuts

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat.  Mix vanilla and pumpkin.  Sift dry ingredients together; mix into creamed mixture.  Add raisins and nuts.  Drop dough by teaspoons onto baking sheet.  Bake at 375º until light brown, approximately 15 minutes.
